A Community Space Where Families Can Grow Together
KENT, WA What began as a creative co-working space for parents and their children, evolving into a safe indoor play space for young children, Laro Tayo has grown into something much bigger. Today, Laro Tayo is becoming a community gathering place where families can play, learn, create meaningful friendships, and support one another through the early years of parenthood.
Located in Kent, Washington, Laro Tayo ("Let's Play" in Tagalog) was created with one simple belief: play has the power to bring people together. Designed specifically for children ages 0–5, Laro Tayo offers a thoughtfully curated indoor play environment that encourages imagination, movement, confidence, and connection. While little ones climb, explore, and discover through open-ended play, parents and caregivers have the opportunity to slow down, build relationships, and find the village so many families are searching for.
"Families aren't just looking for a place to entertain their children," said founder Joysha Fajardo. "They're looking for connection. They're looking for people who understand this season of life with no judgements. We wanted to create a space where both children and grownups feel like they belong." Beyond Open Play, Laro Tayo continues to expand its community programming with experiences that bring families together, including:
Open Play sessions designed for infants through preschoolers
Weekly movement and enrichment classes
Parent workshops and educational events
Community Social Hours where caregivers, grandparents, entrepreneurs, and neighbors can connect
Pop-up markets featuring local makers, artists, food vendors, and family-focused businesses
Birthday celebrations and private events
A flexible gathering space for community groups, meetings, and workshops
Laro Tayo also believes that supporting children means supporting the adults raising them. Through collaborations with local instructors, therapists, educators, artists, and small business owners, the space continues to grow into a resource where families can discover services, share ideas, and build lasting relationships.
Small businesses are also invited to become part of the Laro Tayo community. Whether hosting a pop-up, teaching a class, launching a new product, or gathering feedback from local families, Laro Tayo provides opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with the community in meaningful ways.
As the community grows, so does Laro Tayo's vision. Future programming will continue to focus on bringing families together through play, creativity, wellness, education, and collaboration while creating a place where children can thrive and adults feel supported every step of the way.
