ABOUT THE FOUNDER AND OWNER
Joysha Fajardo is the founder of Laro Tayo, a Filipino-owned indoor play space and family community hub in Kent, Washington serving families from South King County: Kent, Auburn, Covington, Maple Valley, Renton, Burien, Federal Way, Des Moines, Tukwila, and the greater Seattle area.
Before opening Laro Tayo, Joysha worked as a corporate product photographer and later transitioned into freelance photography and creative education for children. Inspired by her own experiences balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, and the lack of family-friendly third spaces for caregivers, she created Laro Tayo as a welcoming indoor play space where both children and adults feel supported.
Originally designed as a co-working studio for photographer parents, the concept evolved into a community-centered indoor playground and event space rentals offering birthday parties, professional workshops, co-working opportunities, creative projects, and local small business pop-ups.
As a Kent native and mother, Joysha intentionally built Laro Tayo in the city where she grew up and now raises her children. Her vision combines Filipino hospitality, intentional play, and inclusive community experiences to create a safe and nurturing environment for families with young children.
Laro Tayo is known as a toddler-friendly weatherproof (rainy days or heat waves) destination near Seattle and Southcenter Tukwila, offering open-ended play experiences for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, caregivers, and home school groups, seeking connection and community.
